5 Ways To Scale Your Roofing Company

When someone starts a roofing company, it’s pretty safe to assume that they don’t think I’m gonna start a business that takes up all my time, stresses me out, and is so dependent on me that I can’t take a vacation without totally shutting down the company or having my phone ring off the hook while I’m away with all the problems.

Now you’ve probably heard the old saying regarding scaling up your business that you need to work on your business instead of in your business. In my experience, this is true with one minor. As a small business, it’s most likely that you can’t drop everything just to work on your business without having a total collapse everywhere else.

This is why I say that you have to work on your business while working in your business. This means that in addition to doing what you’re already doing in your daily business, putting out fires, scheduling jobs, helping customers, paying bills, et cetera, you need to set aside time to work on your business as.

And you’re probably saying to yourself, Well, I don’t have the time. Besides, I don’t even know where to start. If you wanna have a business that you can scale at will, that’s not completely reliant on you. There’s a formula that we refer to to do that, and it’s this. See, your freedom will be in direct proportion to the systems and processes implemented in the company that can be easily operated by others.

This means that you have to be learning, building, and implementing as much as possible if you wanna scale. Otherwise, you’re just gonna be stuck like a mouse on a wheel. Now this may be hard to hear if you’re already spending long hours just to meet the current company needs. At the end, I’ll share something that might help as far as what to be working on.

Here are the five things that all successful roofing companies consistently do to be able to.

Number one, cast a vision. The famous baseball player, Yogi Barrow, said, If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll probably end up somewhere else. Your vision is like your north star that guides you through the darkest of night and the stormiest of seas.

You and your team need to know and be laser focused on where you’re going and why you’re going there.

Number two is set objectives. Once you have a vision, you need to make a plan of how to get there. If you’re gonna sail across the sea, you’d probably need a boat provisions, possibly a crew, schedules and maintenance, medical supplies, a map, et cetera.

You need to do the work of sailing, but also have a plan for all of the processes and tasks that ensure that you’re taking the most efficient route possible in your business. We call this the success plan, which is like a daily map that leads to the destination that was cast in your.

Number three is clean data.

Once you have your success plan, you need to be able to track and monitor your progress. Imagine setting sale across the sea with a boat, a crew provisions, and a clear destination. You have a map, but you never look at it. What are the chances that you arrive on time or even at all? This is how most roofing companies operate.

They don’t have clean, accurate data regarding their operations. Without this information, you can’t perform number.

Number four is measuring results. We see very commonly that business owners we work with know what needs to be done. They might have a destination in mind and a plan to get there and collect all the information, but they don’t frequently review the results.

This would be like driving across the country, never looking at the gas gauge, and then being shocked when you ran outta gas.

Number five, adjusting course. Most plans are not perfect and there’s no shortages of variables that can affect the outcome of even the best plans. If you don’t have good data that gets reviewed frequently to verify how you’re doing in relation to your plan, you have no way to adjust chorus to reach your destination.

This manifests itself inside the business in the form of fires that spring up in the middle of your day that require immediate attention. This is like a wrecking ball to your plans and plants. You squarely back on the mouse wheel to be repeated day after day.
